I would like to try to make some custom maps, but I'm not really familiar with what obj plugins are needed to make custom maps or how to work spinout's porters. Anyways, could someone send me a link to necessary obj plugins for Sketchup 8?

For complete Project64 support you need to use release 2, I think all later versions (someone who actually knows, correct me if I'm wrong) cause the same 'random' crash errors. I think release 2 has PNG support but I don't know about transparency.

okay, I'll try release 2, transparency isn't big unless I need wate, but I prolly wont for what I'm doing. thanks Death!

I use release2 and I have transparency support, so you are right on that part, DeathBasket However, PNG textures are a bit glitchy with it so I try to stay away from using them

With custom maps you can use 24-bit bitmaps rather than palletted ones so you can use any colours.

really? then there isn't much of a prob, I shall test the "glitchiness" of the png's first tho.
Edit: quick question
Does anyone know how to make animating textures in custom maps? Also, does anyone know how to make a texture without collision?

To have a texture without collision just make it part of the mesh. spinout's importer has an option for what to use as the collision map (the zscene) and what to use as the mesh map(s) (the zmap(s)). For animated textures, you are required to do some manual modifications to the zmap using a hex editor and usage of wotf.py • Make sure to replace a scene with animated textures (map select 116) • The parts of the mesh you wish to animate must be part of seperate display lists • In the display lists that you wish to animate, you must place a weird (IMO) 0xDE command before the vertex command. YES, I said VERTEX CMD The "weird" DE command looks like this: DE 00 00 00 AA 00 00 00
AA: Animation Properties. These are the only values that Flotonic has confirmed to work: 0x08 - I believe this is vertical animation 0x09 - I believe this is horizontal animation 0x0C - The same as 0x09, I think.
I am still working on implementing animated textures in custom maps correctly and have not "experiemented" with them for awhile. However, I wouldn't worry about animated textures yet since you're barely beginning to create custom maps
