so is there any solution for this? I can't seem to find any update for the BIOS My motherboard is D2164-A1 By FUJITSU SIEMENS BIOS=FUJITSU SIEMENS // Phoenix Technologies Ltd. version: 5.00 R1.07.2164.A1 (11/17/2005) so how would I go by fixing this problem (NOTE that no matter what OS I install the virus wants to corrupt it :/ Tried with ubuntu and windows windows equals to an instant corruption Ubuntu slowly corrupts getting harder and harder to use untill I have to reformat to be able to do anything, the corruption is to such a degree that even the text breaks when running without GUI)

sounds like you need to replace a hard disk drive, and/or whatever holds the bios liar you watched too much porn, and its god punishing you for lust.

I have done so, it is not the harddrive it is the BIOS chip (located on the motherboard) And I did not do it it is my brothers (nicknamed (by me) Sir click-alot (have you seriously never watched robotwars?) and TPOP (The prince of porn, kinda a parody of the prince of persia) ) btw never heard of a bios virus, this is the most well known en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIH_(computer_virus)And it is still very possible to write them. and some general info on BIOS viruses www.tomshardware.com/news/bios-virus-rootkit-security-backdoor,7400.html

actually I don't need a new chip to flash the bios (Unless the virus has some sort of built in protection/dead man's switch, either way I'm screwed in that case) But I have not found any BIOS or any BIOS flashing utility I spent three hours on google yesterday, the only thing I found was a shit expensive (probably fake) product that would do it for you INSIDE windows....... Now, since the virus will om-nom vital system files (windows) and slowly om-nom the linux kernel, I have some great doubts that It is fixable without the fix backfiring on me because the above mentioned (theoretical) dead man's switch........ Some more notes ** I know that it is not the harddrive (Tested it in another pc, and tested with 4 other drives) I know it is not the RAM, I left a RAM test running for 2 hours (nothing failed) I know it is not the cables, because a. I have tested the cables in other computers b. I have tested with other cables I know it is not the CMOS cache I removed the battery for several minutes to clear the cache, this allowed me to access the BIOS settings (before it I was locked out, aka the PC displayed a black screen when entering setup, possibly it crashed) basically any test anyone throws at me has already been tested or eliminated because it is not a possibility. so if anyone can nudge me in the right direction of a BIOS update or a utility of flashing the BIOS I would really appreciate it

indeed, but those I found cost a shitload of money (Not the site of those who made it)

it only empties the cache (the stored settings) and I have already done it I need to flash the BIOS so I have new bios (The most likely thing in this situation is that a Virus has written itself, either in empty data on the BIOS chip. or overwriting something in the BIOS
