So, I need to know if anyone knows how to do this, and if they are willing to help me. I need to know this for Hyrule's Dark Christmas. First, does anyone know how to remove the start cutscenes like in Zelda's Birthday? Also, is it possible does anyone know how to make it so that Link can start (wake up) in a different place? Including Navi showing up there (not counting the flying cutscene.) Also, make that the "default place" where Link spawns whenever you start your game. This is not vital to the mod (not really that important either,) but it would make it more interesting and different. Any help or advice is greatfully accepted! so long as I can understand it... ;D

I put the cutscene where Link is asleep into Hyrule Field but it crashed after a few seconds. I will try putting the cutscene you mentioned into another scene to see what happens, but I can't make any guarantees right now. If it goes well then I'll tell you what to do. The only problem I've had replacing the introduction cutscene is that the screen remains black instead of fading in, I never looked into that properly though.

okay, but, can it be removed, or does it need to be moved?

You can remove it by getting rid of the cutscene data but it'd seem a little strange going straight into gameplay. By default the game will load cutscene_01 from whatever area you start in so it will crash if you try to load any areas that don't have (enough) cutscenes. I tried putting the cutscene you talked about in Hyrule field and it works fine, the only problem is that the game will crash after the cutscene because Link will be standing on an exit with an undefined value. The main problem you will have with swapping cutscenes is that the camera and Link will most likely be in odd places since the cutscenes were designed for particular levels. To swap cutscenes between levels, you need to look for scene headers with a 17000000bbxxxxxx command, where: bb = memory segment (bank), 02 for scene files xxxxxx = offset of cutscene data I don't know if there's an easy way to find the end offset of the cutscene data, I just find it by guessing really. From there you just copy the data and paste it over cutscene data from another scene file. I've attached the cutscene data of the cutscene you wanted to use for your convenience. The black screen problem can be fixed by changing the exit table entry at 0xB9F660 in the ROM: You want to change the entrance transition's value to something other than what it already is.
