I'm completely new at this, and I've been trying really hard for several days to figure out what's going on without having to ask. I've checked quite a few threads on several sites and not found an answer yet. When I try to load up my MM rom in UoT it gives me a box that says: ROM not recognized, build date: 0-07-31 17:04:16 I have a screencap too. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Is there something else I needed to do? I used the zdec.exe to create a decoded MM rom, I also tried using the debug rom for MM, but I get the same messege and it won't load either. (I am using the correct program, right?) I was able to load the OOT debug in UoT, but nothing for MM. Please help if you can! (Also, hi everyone! XD)

zdec isn't a decoder, it's a decompresser. It decompresses the YaZ0 blocks in the ROM to make them more easily readable. From memory, the newer UoTs don't need the ROM to be decompressed.
However, I'm not entirely sure if cooliscool had finished MM support for the full ROM. Either way, you might also be using a damaged ROM, so I suggest you find a fresh (U) ROM from somewhere and try that. You might be using a bad ROM.

Okay, that is interesting... I will look for another rom and try it out, thank you =) Any suggestions for which site to get it from? I don't want to download another damaged one. Also, if UoT doesn't support MM, how would I go about hacking it?

I think I have ZAP2 that is supported by Majora's Mask. I could upload it if I find it. I'm sure JSA wouldn't mind.

It can still load maps/scenes, however you'd have to go about loading them differently. There's an option to load single files, rather than the entire ROM. If you use Zelda Resource Extractor to extract all the files, you can edit them that way and reinsert the files using a utility like Romput.

What version of ZRE are you using? I'm not sure what UoT you're using but some of them had an 'Extract ROM' button at the top, this always works for me. If you're using a newer version, look here for an older one: spinout182.com/uot/I use 0.90, not sure which version.

There's a GUI that feeds the relevant commands to the program, should be with the older versions of UoT. If you're feeling brave, why not try running it with -h or -help, fairly sure it has a readout of the different input options.

Just to add my input here, I'm almost positive that spinout's "Zappy" has support for MM. I've used it on several occasions for hacking OoT and have gotten great things out of it.

I think you need to change the setup file to get it to work with MM. I'm not sure though.

I downloaded version 0.90 of UoT and it worked! I will also look into this Zappy to see what it'll do, since I'm assuming that the UoT tutorial I was going to use will not help me much with version 0.90, and if Zappy turns out to be easier to use I should start with the most n00b-friendly thing I can find XD Thank you everyone! You've been really helpful =)
