Hello, I'm (kinda) new to these forums. About a year ago I came onto these forums and found some nice GS codes for my Zelda 64 roms, and I also saw the amazing edits you guys were doing. So, way back when, I got UoT, and no matter how much I tried to extract the Ocarina of Time Debug Rom, it always failed, so that made me mad, and I gave up on UoT, but I still explored these forums, wishing I could make an edit... So, to the point. Last night, I got ZTE, ZAP2, ZLE2 and their compressed .rar Sources, and I got a Debug Rom via google searching "LEZOOTMA". I already had PJ64 v1.6, and the rom wouldnt load on it. It would say the rom was loading, then when it got to 100%, all I got was a black screen with no audio. If I turned off the "Limit FPS" option, the FPS would go crazy -- over 2000 FPS. I figured it was PJ64, because I can never get ANY debug rom to work on that. So, moments ago, I got Nineteen64, and tried simply running the debug rom, and it would crash it. I haven't tried NEMU64 yet, thats what I'm gonna do in a minute. I would appreciate it if someone could help me figure out this problem. I don't know whether it's the rom or the emulator. I've gone through many debug roms and they all end up the same, a black screen, crazy FPS, and no audio what-so-ever. Thanks in advance, Slimeboy71164

Okay. First thing's first; is your emulator's RAM/expansion pack setting set to 8MB? Because if it isn't the ROM won't run.
Also, (this is harder to test for) are you sure that it's a legit (as far as it can be so), clean debug ROM?

Dunno about that first one, but I'm sure I've got clean roms, since I've went through about 50 of them, all from different places. You would think I've ran into at least ONE clean rom. Ill try what you said! Thanks! EDIT: Yes! It worked!! Thanks a million! One slight thing though: are the textures supposed to be kinda messed up?

hmmm try using "Jabo's direct3D6 1.5.2" instead of "jabo's direct3D8 1.6"^^ If that doesn't work try chnging the graphics settings

Also to extract the Debug ROM's contents just extract with ZRE manually or u could use this: www.mediafire.com/?g0kyrd2cgw4Its the extractions so u don't have to use ZRE

Thanks for all the help, guys! Hopefully this will all work right! I'm planning to make some really cool mods: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Shadows and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Light. I'm crossing my fingers that it will come through! Wish me luck? ? EDIT: One last question... I'm such a noob at this. What are the extractions for and whats ZRE?

ZRE (Zelda Resource Extractor) is a program that isolates and extracts all the individual 'files' that make up a Zelda ROM. It makes editing isolated files easier. It's not required for a lot of the newer editors, but still a good tool to have.
It was written in C by ZZT.

We do wish u luck maybe we'll finally have a complete mod other than Zelda's Birthday... And u could open up the files from the extract in Utility of Time, an editor for Zelda 64. Or u won't need to use the extract at all and just edit via Zappy or ZLE and Hex Editors

Thanks for all the help guys! I'm playing around with ZAP2, and I've already edited the main room in the Forest Temple, and it looks pretty good! I really appreciate it!
