I know i saw it and i downloaded the .skp file and ran it through google sketchup and applied some textures on it then ran it through obj2area and it worked. Do u have python 2.5 installed? Do u have vpython for 2.5? What about .NET framework 2.0 or higher? Do u hav the correct object export settings in google sketchup's OBJ exporter? What OS r u running on (for example: Windows Vista x86 for me)? Do u have pypng and all the correct pypng files in ur obj2area folder (optional for PNG support)? Plz explain what the exact problem is with ur map in oot (for example: room won't load, ROM won't load, when you open up the room theres nothing there and u fall endlessly, shapes load up but u fall through the floor, collision isn't working, textures fuck up, faces get distorted, missing faces, ROM takes u to original room, u can walk on solid ground but nothings there, ..... *whew* etc.)
i had all those problems but in the end i solved it.
Plz post ur export options that r checked and what u r typing in obj2area when ur trying to import the map

Alright, here goes nothing- I have PortablePython_1.1_py2.5.4 I'm pretty sure it came with Vpython, but I'm not really sure. I'm running Windows XP Problem is that The map is above me, and there's no collision. I can fly up there, but I can't see the top because the camera doesn't go that high. I didn't add textures to the map. I have Pypng and i Put it in my python folder. Now here's where I'm confused. I've been running Python scripts by dragging and dropping them into the python.exe and the scripts work. When I load up Obj2Area that way, it works. After I put in my rom, my obj, and all that BS, it gives me warnings and crap (not popups, its in the cmd prompt) and It shuts down.
These are my options for Obj2Area- Debug rom Obj Scale 80 Music Value- 0x1C # of starting positions- 1 # Transition Actors- 0 MEsh object, multiple Objects?- no # of Actors- 1 # of Objects- 1 Indoor? No

i think u have to have transition actors....?? idk i always put 1 in for that and no collision means you fall straight through the floor yes? just making sure... i think it has to do with how ur exporting the obj via google sketchup and its exporting options. (thats what solved it for me) and also how ur putting no transition actors in obj2area. put the exact same crap that Frozen puts in obj2area in the video that was made.....in other words, study the vid

The SVN downloads are recognized as viruses from my Avast.. also, when i disable my anti-virus to try and use the UoT R10, it gives me an error when trying to open any room. It prompts me to either continue with the program (which doesn't do anything), or close the app immediately. anybody know how to bypass this?

Any anti virus would see UoT as a virus, because it changes files (Zmaps, etc) But Avast sucks reguardless. In any case, whats your OS? Also, You DO have the .net framwork and directx, right?

Then I don't know what to say D: Try the other version? Can you open objects? (Not rooms, objects. Or did you mean to say ROM When you said room?) Run as admin?
If there is no true error with it, just windows saying it wants to close, then I dont know what to say. If you dont mind a shitty UI, then you could use ZAPPY I guess.

i can't open rooms or objects. This is what it says in UoT (any of the "newer" versions which is one of the first steps in the tut): "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I can use 0.9 but it says in the tutorial that i need one of the newer versions which i can't use apparently i really wanna try my skill at some Z64 hacks and maybe liven the community a bit more

If it doesnt work at all, try your hand at ZAPPY instead, and download python.

Alright, one thing Frozen. I don't have the OBJ exporter plugin.
Edit: Alright, I did everything (except how you exported the obj, I dont have plugins) that you did in the video. What happens is this. When I load my map up, I have to quickly levitate up to the watre box, which is very small, and I still can't get to my map, which I'm pretty sure doesn't have collision. What Am I Doing Wrong!??!!!?!?!
Edit 2: I tried again, this time replacing map 00 instead of 105. I walked into the deku tree, and blam, I was in the deku tree, with different music.
