Thats right! A nice pile of viruses spread through out my computer. Many many parts were infected right away. The first trojan (back door) came through svchost.exe (I guess there was a hole?) after that they started coming everyday. I had know choice but to reinstall Windows. Hopefully that wont ever happen again.
Lucky I have a nice external hard drive and a copy of Windows Vista backup.

notta big phan oph linuks Notice that there are no viruses for linux? And that linux is free? Completely free. Tis why i love it, and this distro (jolicloud) is just amazingly beautiful ;D But of course, if we all were to get linux, there more-than-likely WOULD be viruses for it very soon. ://

actually. you can do linux. via a live cd - or a cd that boots from, well, the cd, so it doesnt matter whats on the hard drive (like the messed up .dll's) its a little slower than the hdd, but it lets you try out the operating system, to play around with it, etcetc, before you click "install" and put it on the hard drive (deletes EVERYTHING currently on it, and puts the linux on it)
