Hey I just started with all this 3 hours ago, i've got PJ64 and played some OOT debug Rom getting a hang of handling items and mapselection.(Took time finding the file and tutorial to use) I just wondered if any of you have a link to Utility of time so I could start doing some changes, or if you have a bether suggestion for program i'd gladly try it out.

Latest and greatest. This one's pretty much everything you'll need for actor and animation viewing/editing. Not sure if it has map editing yet, but still pretty much the final word in Zelda hacking.

I don't really recommend using XVI32, as the only time I tried using it, it caused my Debug ROM to stop working entirely; I think the version I got had a problem with saving. If you're not against pirating, I recommend Hex Workshop 4.2, as this one has absolutely no problem saving edited files, has a far more user-friendly interface, and many more features without being cluttered. As for your problem with there not being enough text, it's something you just have to work with. Try to edit dialogue boxes that will fit for your conversation that you plan to use; sometimes, you just have to be extremely concise (unless, of course, there is a way to reference text from different addresses when speaking to things; if so, I don't know how that's done). As for there not being enough actors, that is easily resolved by modifying the map header to accommodate more actors. You can find a video tutorial here, or if you prefer text-based tutorials, you may find one of those here.
