Collaborating on a game would be great, but it depends on all of us not being lazy if we wanted it to go anywhere, and that's a pretty unreliable factor (from personal experience). I'm not really up for buying a PS3 but I don't know about everyone else.

I am interested in making a game.
this is my guess on what would be necessary to make a game.
first, we need a storyline, before we do anything.
the my next guess is a game engine.
then we need modelers, hex editors, and people to make the skins and textures.

Well whatever we do, I am taking bobbo's idea of SNES games, I am learning to use SMILE (Super Metroid Integrated Level Editor). Expect some mods in the future I suppose.

I did a few small level edits on SMW once. I also did some stuff on Pokémon Diamond/Pearl.

Again, shot in the dark.
(ON THE TOPIC OF A NEW GAME) Bobbo, I'm sure a full fleged 3d game would be out of a grasp, and more so our attention spans, so maybe think along the lines of a 2d indie(metroidvania) and as our makeshift team gains momentum, maybe a 3d game could be possible.
(ON THE TOPIC OF EDITING AN EXISTING GAME/S) Doom Oblivion Fallout Morrowind Link to the past Pokemon
People, we have so many choices, yet we focus on such a small area. any game would be good, bu we need to level out the difficulty, because if things end up to complicated, we'll drop like flys in our efforts.
Think Glitchkill...think my minions.

doom, that is a GOOD suggestion, all you need is doom64 and rices video plugin.
i would like a full fleged 3d game, or something that gives that effect.
Doom is so old, that is is most likely dirt cheap.

If it was 2D I'd say go along the lines of the old Mario or Zelda games.

Well anyway, for the time, I have a question, who here has played Super Metroid? And for those who haven't, who would like a test room full of items?
Also Happy New Year!

Creating a 3 Dimensional game, is not out of reach, but many of the members wont have to time to follow through with everything with school and work. I suggest making a Super Mario 2D type of game.
