|Official Zelda U Discussion Thread| Ok so we got our first look at the new zelda game for the Wii U here, what are some of the things you liked and/or didn't like in the trailer? A lot of things to point out and notice was the lush new hyrule field. It is vast and deep and has a sort of japanese feel to it with the farmers and goats and all which you can see in the trailer, death mountain or some variant is visible in the background as well as a waterfall. Aonuma said you can freely explore hyrule and all it's entirety with no limits, not sure if you can go into one dungeon without completing another though but it sounds interesting. Lets just hope they keep the puzzle solving a priority. Link has a similar shield design to skyward sword and has a new arsenal of bow and arrows at his disposal and looks like a crossover between an arrow and a sword, maybe that will play out in some way as you progress in the game. Perhaps as a multitude of weapons. That would be cool! Link is also wearing what looks to be ganondorf's cape from wind waker, which could mean ganondorf is not the main antagonist in the game? Could there possibly be a new enemy in Zelda U? I hope so but hey if they put ganon back in the spotlight that's fine by me.

Looking pretty sweet. Would love if the world were as freely-explored as Ocarina Of Time's Hyrule, jump up onto almost anything that's about the same size as a ledge, always loved that for some reason. Can really see how much detail they've put into the game in this video here, the world really is alive in this one. Just the attack sequence before it cuts from game footage to a cutscene; when the monster approaches, it first looks towards the herd of goats and farmhands on its left hand side, which alerts them as well as Epona, (who turns to face it) then, it turns towards Link and Epona and initiates an assault, which sends the goats and farmhands off, and begins the cutscene chase sequence. Can even see that the ground actually becomes scorched when it utilizes its projectile weapon mechanism, haven't ever seen that much detail in a simple combat exchange in a Zelda game before.

I know, this creature here looks like some sort of ancient octorok lol I'll call it "Metoctorok" it shoots lazer beams and moves like it was somehow activated rather than being controlled so I can't wait to see how this enemy comes into play! I think there will be a goal to defeating it multiple times, depends if you weaken the first or there are more than one. I like how epona is so calm in the trailer too even when the cutscene chase starts and links clothing for some reason reminds me of shieks link lost that farmer look, that would be cool if he grows up in a village or something maybe a gerudo village? Then again there were no sand lands in the trailer.

Jesus christ! Did you guys see this? Check out the field it's so beautiful wow and epona actually looks realistic, a little dark shaded but realistic can you actually ride the other horses shown in the video in the game as well? Aw man that would be fricken sweet! This game is going to be awesome!!! Full win for the sail cloth from skyward sword and the new look for the bokoblins. XD

Yeah. That open world looks quite awesome. Analyzing some things in this video, notice how some of the light torches look similar to the ones in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask? Also links hylian shields design looks awfully like the one from wind waker, except the shape is different and the ruins in the field look somewhat like the ones you see in a link to the past and the tower shown looks like the one in kakariko village from OoT lol do you think there are really apples on those trees? No seriously I hope they weren't joking, that would be pretty cool and I couldn't tell but was that a castle in the distance at 4:17?
