Hey everyone, two of my friends and I just started learning how to use UoT because we want to learn how to create a zelda expansion to eventually have the temple of light and other additions to the game.
I've managed to replace lets say a sign in hyrule field to a Lizafos for example, but then if i want to change a bush into a redead aswell so i fight both of them at the same time I run into a problem. Once i set the Lizafos's groups which is 001B and click apply, i go to change the Redead's groups to 0098 but once I do that the Lizafos's groups change to 0098 aswell making it not show up. Can anyone help me with that?
Also, does anyone have a download link to Zelda Level Editor 2? I've tried the one in the ZLE2 thread but the link is broken.
Thanks in advance.

spinout182.com/uotJust assign the redead's object to a different object (like a different enemy) and then have the lizaflo replace the bush's object. Correct terminology for groups is objects, by the way

Hey everyone, thanks alot for the helpful information and the links. I actually thought that was the problem before I posted this, and played around with it myself, but when I try to change the object number in the drop down menu to lets say 8 for the Redead, I click apply then it resets it back to 1. The same goes for if I try to change the Lizafos's object number to something else, it just reverts back to what it was once I click apply. Anyone know the issue? Also this is a little off topic, but the version I was using was UoT .90, then today when I was using it my computer kept crashing, and when I restarted I get a message saying "Your computer has recovered from an unexpected shutdown". I downloaded another version which was UoT .90 BETA and that actually stopped my computer from crashing in this version. Does anyone know why it crashes with .90? And if not, is it okay to use the .90 BETA instead? Thanks again everyone for being so helpful. Apologies for the noobishness.

You could use SayakaGL (although, I'm not sure how to change an actor's object in it) It is recommended that you use a hex editor for actor placing, it's the only sure fire way to make sure your not corrupting the ROM (considering you're doing it right) All you really have to do is open the zmap, search for the number/variable/object (all together) & change it to the actor that you want. As for injecting the moddified diles into the ROM (edited in UoT or a hex editor) don't use UoT, just save the files & inject them back into the ROM using petrie911's automatic Debug ROM file injector, you can find that in the Zelda hacking section (outside the sub-boards) And, always have a backup ROM because things go wrong alot. If this sounds hard then prepare yourself, actor placement is the easy part of Zelda modding! Also, if you need more actors/object groups then you can add more to a map (you'll need a good tutorial for that) Hope this info helps!

I'd personally use ZAP2 (which is different from ZLE2) to change actors. It's worked for me and even though it says no Project 64 support, as long as you make the changes you want, save to the ROM and then reboot the emulator, your changes will stay intact. But ZAP2 shows you what everything is and then if it's something you don't need, just replace it with what you want. Just make sure you change one of the group variables too.

Hey guys, still having a problem with actor placing. I've tried UoT, SaykaGL, ZAP2 and HxD for actor placement now, and they've all worked...sort of. To be more specific, I'm trying to replace the owl's group in Hyrule Field to be a Gerudo Fighter. I've tried other actor's like Lizafos or Iron Knuckles and they show up in the game just fine, so I know I'm replacing the actor/variable/object correctly. But the actor I want is the Gerudo Fighter and they just don't show up when I test the game for some reason. Also there's been other actor's i've tested and a good portion of them have the same problem and just don't show up at all. Anyone know why certain actors are showing but most aren't? Thanks everyone

the gerudo fighter needs a carpenter to load, add one of those and place it directly under, it will work Oh wow I would have never guessed that. Thanks alot. Is there a list anywhere I could find to tell me which actors require other actors in order to show up?

the gerudo fighter needs a carpenter to load, add one of those and place it directly under, it will work Sorry back again haha..I tried this and I can't seem to get it working. I've added a carpenter just fine and he shows up, and put the actor box directly under the gerudo fighter's, and it didn't work. Then tried both actor boxes on top of each other then the other on top and still no luck.

are both objects (groups if you are more familiar with that term) loaded? Well only the carpenter shows up when I test the game, and the gerudo fighter doesn't. I've put in all the correct data for both actors in, and made them two different object numbers in the drop down list. I'm just not sure where i'm going wrong here..

how would I make it so the Gerudo Fighter doesn't take link captive and place him in the gerudo jail? I just want to be able to fight one to the death rather have it hit me once or twice then capture me. Also, how would I make it so it doesn't drop a key aswell?
Thanks!
