Way to change your story. Get out of here, you know you're just going to make a scene with your own bad reputation.

...did...did I miss something? Strange coincidence...this topic has been silent for weeks and the very day I'm about to post a new mod it gets bumped by someone else... Anyway, I started this mod last night. So far, it's just a texture replacement (actual replacement, not Rice texture pack), but it's planned to be a complete mod. First, the logo: which is based on the Zelda64 trailer logo: The inventory: The bow and hammer are based on this beta pic: (actually, the hammer was ripped directly from that and cleaned up a bit in GIMP) And lastly, here's young link showing off the beta shield, beta kokiri sword, and beta slingshot. It's not much, but next on my todo list is: -
removing the burn effect from the logo
- retexturing adult link to look like the beta link
- changing the appearance of the hud
- making a custom hammer that matches the beta hammer icon
Additionally, I'm going to try to figure out how to make the game start as adult link. If I can, then I'll merge object_link_boy and object_link_child, enable child items for adult link, and adjust the pointers in code.zasm so they're actually visable. Edit: Just removed the burn effect from the logo Btw, this is for the 1.0 (U) rom. Also, don't anyone get their hopes up too high on this, I don't plan on it being a huge mod, its just something I'm goofing around with. Edit2: Thanks to Sanguinetti for supplying this texture, here's the true beta shield

You should modify the burn effect to fit the logo instead of removing it (just my personal opinion). Sorry, I don't mean to hijack this thread but I feel I must reply to a previous post made on here that is now deleted (it is the one that Crimson is talking about at the top of this page). Before you delete this just know that I don't mean to stir up drama and am only trying to verify some information. If you really don't care, just skip this reply. For those of you who didn't see, Vex had made a post in this thread which was in reply to some of the Maco64 talk you can find on the 2nd page. He was merely trying to give an explanation for what all went down. I am not taking sides with anyone (Flotonic or Vex), but I can vouch for Vex when I say that he did have a valid argument.
The forums were technically his. He was the one who paid for everything. He was the one who dished out more than 100 bucks (if memory serves me correctly) to move the invisionfree forums to a legit web host. He was the one advertised far more than any of the other admins. I mean, who would spend all that money and not try to get his forums out there? So, I honestly think he is correct in saying that he felt he could do whatever he wanted with the forums as long as his actions were remotely justified.
Now, allow me to elaborate on his actions. Everything was perfectly fine except for one thing. Vex had gone through past friendships with other well-known modders (I'm not pointing fingers) and had always been turned on when the relationship became strained by some inconvenient situations. Needless to say, by the time he became friends with Flotonic he was already posed for a counter-attack if he ever felt a retaliation was needed. When he heard that Flotonic had begun to speak ill of him, that was the last straw. Pent up anger from previous friendships erupted and he lashed out, unfortunately, at everyone who was a part of his forums at the time.
Now you may be thinking "Why take it out on us?" Well, let me just say this: who thinks rationally when they are overwhelmed with emotion? I'm not saying it was correct that he had to try and bring everybody down, but after being betrayed by people one after the other and being the owner of a forum where nearly four-fifths of the members were supporters and followers of the "betrayer" it goes without saying that he wasn't being completely illogical.
It sucks that stuff had to happen like that, but that's my honest explanation of things. I was friends with both Vex and Flotonic so I had to make a last minute decision to decide which side I would choose. I ended up siding with Flotonic and while I can't say whether or not it was the right decision, I did what I had to do and I made my decision after much thinking. Well, now I am deemed as a "betrayer", too.
Going back to what I had said in the beginning, it was ultimately his website and I believe that he is correct in believing that he was able to do what he wanted with it. Of course that's all in the past now, but I just felt that I should clear up the whole subject. To quote Vex " This happened 2 years ago, I don't care about the issue then, I care about it still being an issue now."

Yeah, I was thinking it might look better plain at first, but I agree, it'd look better with it. As far as the whole Vex thing goes, I don't have anything against him. In fact, I feel sorry for him. He got into a fight with Flotonic, did something really stupid, and has been bad mouthed, ridiculed, and rejected ever since. I'm not justifying what he did; in my eyes, regardless of whether he owned the site or not, he pulled people away from a perfectly secure community and then dumped them without warning. I'll admit I was very pissed for a very long time, but what's done is done. I managed to get in contact with him a couple of weeks ago and we actually just hung out and talked for a while.

You should add the beam-blade to the final version of the sword I'd be happy to code it for you if I could just find the bit flag within the arrow actor's "actor panel" to make it fire.

I'm not that knowledgeable about actor modding, though I have written a program that documents the positions / sizes of each section, all their variables, and any references to a .zobj file. If you can tell me what it is I should be looking for, I'm pretty sure I can find it

That would be a pretty cool map to play on! thanks btw, I just finished it like, 30 seconds ago. some pics Now I just need to trim and convert it, add the actors, and put it in the game EDIT: Just finished trimming the map. Also made a few changes; rounding out the area where the know-it-all's house is at, stretching out the ramp towards the entrance to kokiri forest, rotating the know-it-all's house to the correct angle, and adding a path (it's a bit bright, but it works)
