Renegade is comprised of a number of tools such as...: Cheating--> Code Search: search for certain values in the RAM to pinpoint addresses Trainer Patcher: I don't really know... Gameshark is considered a Trainer/Patcher Memory Editor: self-explanatory Attach to an Emulator: attach Renegade to an emulator to be able to edit memory while using the emulator Detach from Emulator: ^^ self-explanatory ASM--> R4300i Disassembler: open ROMs or view Memory from an attached emulator in MIPS R4300i assembly language Disassemble Codes: paste a GS code and then run the disassembling process to see what the code actually does in ASM Assemble Codes: write ASM hacks then run the assembling process to convert it to a GS code. You can also have the hack be written the attached emulator's memory Tools--> Options--> Code Searcher: I already explained this above Byteswap: I hear this alot... something to do with Endianess and Big-Endianess Code Porter: I haven't tried this out but I believe its for porting codes between different versions of games Patch('50) Code Expander: there is info about "50" codes. It doesn't really "patch" GS codes Goldeneye Target Time Calc: I don't mess with 007 games ... Hex Calculator: self-explanatory Code Formatter: I have never messed with this N64 Activator Writer: I have never messed with this but I believe it is for those "D0/D1" GS codes.

Renegade is comprised of a number of tools such as...: Cheating--> Trainer Patcher: I don't really know... Gameshark is considered a Trainer/Patcher Byteswap: I hear this alot... something to do with Endianess and Big-Endianess Both of those are pretty accurate analyses. A trainer can be thought of as a utility that actively provides an interface from which the user can manipulate specific desired memory addresses. By extension, a trainer patcher essentially creates that interface. As for the byteswapper tool, I'm not entirely familiar with the concept of byteswapping and characteristics behind it, but I know that it basically has something to do with the way the ROM is encoded. Generally, we use a big-endian Debug ROM since it's easier to work with (you can tell it's big-endian if the file has a .z64 extension).
