I have decided to make a oot replica from scratch. I'm going to code it in Visual Studio 2008 in C++. Any progress I make will be shown here. I am going to try to make it as precise as possible to the real oot. I also plan on using psyq to compile and port it to the n64 (in .v64 format). Once again if this is in the wrong place or I did something wrong please let me know. Sorry if I did put this in the wrong place. The Twilight Princess Link model will be temporarily used until I can get the Ocarina of Time Link Model. Once the project is near completion or at least reached a stable base I will release the source code.
Edit: I recently made some progress. I made some work and decided to use C# with this. Since Microsoft has C# based libraries that are perfect for what I'm doing I may switch from C++ to C#.
Progress: 8.0%
Being Worked on: NPC System Dialogue Loading Terrain Create the Game HUD Creating Physics Engine
Completed: Libraries Include Files Audio Engine Graphics Engine Movement (No Animation) Model Loading 3rd Person Camera Loading and playing as child link
Beta Testers: aaammmsterdddam (aka TheDevilsAdmin)
READ THIS: I am currently in need of a 3d model of Link for development. If you have one or are a very good modeler pm me.
Screenshots will be posted as the project progresses.

This does not mean it can't or should not be done.

However if you want to test it your in. The project is BRAND new and its currently an empty project. I'm looking for good libraries (ex. .lib, .h) to use for things such as model loading, audio, buffering certain objects, ect. You can be a tester though there is currently nothing to test. If you know any good libraries please pm me.

PM me when there's anything to test^^ Thanks. Please PM Me the sound effects. Also I am going to make my own personal content on it. Since making navi is going to be a hard task rather then getting rid of navi im going to make navi toggable with some funny extras with her (*hint* "Navi: Hey Link! Careful with that sword, you almost killed me..... Link.... Ah!" *hint*). I may not be able to make the replica perfectly exact as the physic engine on the original OOT is very advance as well as some other things.

^^ of course. they had professional programmers skilled in MIPS r3400-i ASM and C coding. Yea that is true. At least we have the powerful advancement of technology on our hands . The N64 had extreme hardware limits which would require major tweaking. These hardware limits caused problems like for example the N64 could only store 4kb of texture cache and only 4(or 8)MB of RAM. Now if only I could get a good audio library on my hands...

Are you planning on playing the original game sequences or using MIDI files? If you're going to use MIDI files, you'll need to implement a way of looping from certain points (if there isn't a command to do that in MIDI files already) and it'd be cool if you could make use of a higher quality soundfont since most of the general MIDI instruments aren't so good. I'd advise against using MP3 or wave formats since these are much larger files and would need to be streamed, so they won't loop very well.

Is there some special loop sequence in OOT that loops certain parts? Sorry I'm just not getting what exactly you are asking.

Yes, most of the music in the game only loops between certain parts and not the whole piece of music. Example: Kokiri Forest plays a short introduction when you enter it but does not loop that part, the rest of the music is looped though. There's also Hyrule Field which dynamically changes which part of the sequence is playing based on Link's current actions/enemies.
