this is a Zelda FAQ that i put together too answer some questions we get alot! this list may be short but it is helpful
to find a certain question browse the list or Press Ctrl+F and write in the question if it is here. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU ASK A MOD OR ADMIN! if any questions you got are not listed just ask by PM or Post.

Code Problems:

Q: why does my code not work?
A: it may be from another region or it my be of Different Version, the Code may Have been inputed wrong, or the code is Defunctinal

Q: Why does my code work on Emulator but not on N64 or Vice Versa?
A: there are different exeptions in code reading for both emulator and N64, the N64 is more Strict about the things it will load, while the emulator is more free.

Zelda Level Editor Problems:

Q: why Doesnt the Actor i placed Load?
A: make sure that the Correct Group is Loaded, make sure the actor has the Right Varible.

Q: the Level Crashes Before i can Enter it!!
A: this is a sign that Either the actor cant be loaded in that Room/area OR that you removed a KEY actor or Group which the room/area Needs too load (always Have a Back-up rom just incase)

Emulator Problems:

Q: after loading a Saved State right when the rom Starts up, iget a BLACK screen!
A: you ahve loaded the Rom too Fast, restart and wait until you see something (N64 logo)

Q: i cant Edit my Codes list or other functions!
A: turn on the emulator and click options, then scroll down and find Settings... and when in settings click on the TAB options and Unclick ''Hide Advanced Settings'' then load the Game and Right click in the Cheat widnow and you will be asked to ADD or EDIT.

I' m using Project64 v1.6, and there is no way I can load the Debug Rom without loading a savestate. This isn' t a real problem because I have the savestate, but I was just curious about this...

you Require Specific settings in your Emulator, If your Using Pj64 1.6 Change your Settings To these:

I'm using an N64 gameshark with a gold cart ocarina v1.0, and my problem is that the level select code for this version doesn't list any BETA maps.

The BETA ones are all past 115, and my version's level select only goes up to 115.

I also have an exit mod code, though, so if anyone knows what values the BETA maps are, I could just apply that to my exit mod code.

The maps you are talking about are only on the debug rom.

I have a theory, if the debug maps are only on the master quest debug rom, then couldn't it possible that the maps were not for the original zelda game, but for master quest, nintendo may have tried adding more rooms to make it more challenging, but then changed their mind and blocked the maps off.

Someone over on youtube said most of the BETA maps were still in the game, you just need hacks to get them.

Well, I'm just wondering about this claim- don't some of you have access to all the map data and can view every single one that exists via a utility, so you KNOW when you say these maps just plain and simple are not there in the 1.0 version of the game?
