I am fairly new the the Zelda modding scene, and haven't been around for a few years. Some cool stuff has come out since then, and I want to get back into it.
Now, I am trying to get started, and I'm liking how easy this program seems to work, but my models do not show up in SO. I triangulated, and exported a test room.obj file (Using plug-ins for SketchUp 8 Free), and imported the .obj as the collision mesh, and as the room model as per tutorials, and it just won't show up. There is no error message, or anything of that sort saying I did something wrong. In one test, I was able to add a water box which appeared to take the square area of the room, but still no room. I am now no longer to get the water box to show up. I textured the white sides of the polygons, and told SU to export "textured faces only, and "Front faces only". I have not yet tried injecting this into the ROM, cause I want to make sure the model displays right before trying to play it in-game. I am also sure it is the right scale, cause the scale used in SO seems to be the same as the one used in SU, as per videos I've seen.
This is likely a setting, or plug-in issue on my end, but has anyone else had this happen, and what kinda of things fixed it?
I can post screenshots of the model, and plug-ins if needed, I can also upload the .obj if someone wants to test it, or look at it.
Thanks.
EDIT: So it imports into the game without a crash, but it's just a black empty area and I fall to the bottom. I even tried dramatically up scaling the model, and still no dice. I really want to get this to work, I followed all the steps to the T in this video, www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yjrqPmtJXU&list=PL1F2A343F67BAF276&index=24. I am using Windows 7 64-bit if that matters.
EDIT 2: Turns out my model was a little too small, according to the 'Linkscale' model I downloaded. I made it bigger to accommodate the proper scale, thinking that was it, and it still won't show anything. It also still just drops Link into a black room (now with a skybox ). Does the origin in SketchUp translate to SharpOcarina, setting it as Link's spawn position?
EDIT 3: Here is a picture of the model (with the scale Link). It also shows the exporter plug-in I'm using. The model was triangulated first.
