Hello. I'm new here. I just registered. I was directed to glitch kill from a friend who said it was the best when it comes to Zelda hacking. He told me to come here after I told him an idea for a modification.
The Idea:
We all like Translations. But the translation of the Japanese version of Majora's Mask wouldn't be worth it. But we can all agree there is one thing or another that was in the Japanese version that isn't in the American version, and it disappoints us. For most of us, it's the Japanese Deku Palace.
The Project:
I would like to make (or oversee) a modification of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask that would first and foremost restore features of the Japanese 1.0 version. I know this is NOT as simple as copying and pasting all of these things in the right placing. That's why I'm begging for any kind of help or advice anybody can give me.
-things I'd like restored
Deku Palace
Hookshot pirate room
item announcement
3 files per cartridge (<-- due to this probably being impossible, it's option).
No owl saves, only reverse saves (<--also optional, since I never owlsave).
Romani Ranch "Is that your horse?" cutscene
Facing backward after applying/removing a mask.
placement of the stone tower blocks.
-things I definitely don't want to see
Japanese Zora engine. It sucks.
But I don't want this to be JUST restoration of Japanese features. There are some things I would like to do such as...
-increase damage and health of certain enemies/bosses.
-make all bosses harder
-revise some dungeons (possibly take out boss-key skips)
-Have Japanese characters available in naming screen.
-Increase and/or decrease the size of wallets.
-revamp some mini games.
-have Giants mask work as a regular happy mask outside of twinmold room.
-fierce deity anywhere (we all know we want this)
-other miscellaneous little things that go a long way.
If you would be interested in helping me with this project, send me a private message, or better yet, email me. I know I'm probably never going to learn enough to do any of this by myself, which is why I would really like to have help on this mod.
Thanks in advanced for your time.
