I know this seem odd but why did the devolopers gave only dark link a testing room im sure there were lots of other comlicated things going on but what does it even mean to begin with?If you ask me the room looks alot like the mini stafols fight in the forest temple.perhaps people were planing to use him there but changedd there minds? Its really odd it boggles me.Is it because of how complex and intertwined it is with link or what.Im sure there were lots of other complicated ones but why this one in specific? My only guess is it used to be a room in the forest temple.but i posted this discuss it.I mean it seem really strange. Why a gannondorf testing room?I know this qustion seems dumb. But i really dont know for sure.

Mabey the Creators Of Zelda we're going to put Dark-link as a Mini-Boss in the forest temple becuase you fight phantom ganon for the main boss and it would go good together but they needed to put finishing touches on the Dark link Actor. Then they could of changed there minds and thought a poe/ghost would of worked better for the cut and imported the dark link figure into the water temple becuase it was much longer temple and lots more confusing. Dark link is an extremely tough character and I think they put him there perposly to make the water temple the hardest temple in the game. As for ganondorf... I honestly don't know.

Idea, a round room.
Used for fighting dark link.
For testing his movements and animations.
It's a OldTest or Combat test.

My guess is that they gave him a more specific test room because his programming is more advanced than most of the other non-boss enemies.
OR
That was a test room for all enemies & Dark Link just happened to be the last model tested or his actor just happened to be the one there in the Debug ROM

yeah, is there anyone else who get the feeling that they never 'finished' dark link? Seriously I believe that he was going to be a boss but they never finished him (He is the hardest 'enemy' in the game, including all bosses, srsly choose between 20 knuckles or 20 dark links). Also there are some flaws that are so obvious, they couldn't have 'finished' him.

Does anyone notice that the way link starting point is postitionioned you start the battle the second you start? In the water temple when you first walk in the room you cant find him shouldnt that have been tested? Also why is it that event only applies in the water temple.OR its because its true that they share share the same actor number thus meaning perhaps dark links code was based off links code thus making it much more complex and therefor requiring much more testing than a usual actor.

yeah, but he doesn't appear untill you pass the tree..... So he is a part of his illusion room? (His illusion room is an actor and if you look at the water temple it is the actual room too (tho there is collision there, but the textures are in the room, also there are no other actors there, so I assume that he is also a part of his illusion room....
Oh that reminds me! In ToT if you place dark link in the MS room, he will not load, with or without illusion room :/

I think Dark Link was meant for something else, but they were lazy and just put what they had as the WT mini boss. Because he has unnecessary programing, like he can swim & dive, and if you face him as young Link, he's slightly in the ground to make up the proper hight. Or mabey he can do those things because Link, is a necessary part of him (like the illusion room) and he copies animations (like the way his health meter copies Link's. Also, Dark Link has major flaws, if you try hard enough you can hit him with jump attacks.

I have hit him with jump attacks.
I have yet to see anyone hit him with the magic spin.

Din's fire. nuff said, it will confuse him and he will take out the shield and block, or he'll backflip, it depends... orly? He can swim? awesome. One note, if you face him when you have three hearts, he'll still have fourteen hearts. (Or so I think, I beat the game with three hearts and he has between 10 and 14 hearts if you have three)
Also he is unfinished, and I think he was supposed to be a boss. Tho if they would have finished him, I think he would be unbeatable, because if you have a healing fairy, he would also have one, so tehoretically he would be even harder, if they would have finished him...... Now the magic spin is impossible to hit him with, he will just backflip and it will miss...... Also he can jump up and STAND ON your sword, whitch is kinda awesome, you stab him he jumbs up on your sword. That is awesome.

I would enjoy a zelda game that was designed not to be beat.

The tree's there to mark Dark Link. The first time somebody plays the game, they will prolly go all the way over to the other side, see the lock door, so they go to the tree, and then they see Dark Link, and then their like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
