What forum are you making the skin for?

It's a new forum I'm making with sombody. We're gonna make it using forumotion, (basic, I know, but why not?) I know there's about 4 types of skins that forumotion supports. I know a skin is made up of just PNGs that have values assigned to them. I just need to know how many files are needed to cover all parts of a skin: title, background, buttons, ect, and how to code them.

I think IvanX means what forum software; phpbb, Simple Machines, vBulletin, Invision etc.
The outlay of the files varies depending on that.

Invision Power Board can be a little inflexible I find; I prefer vBulletin or Simple Machines.
Also, are you hosting the server yourself, or are you using an outside service to host it?
